About
Reinvent at 40 is a resource for women in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s who are rethinking their careers — whether that means changing industries entirely, returning to work after time away, or simply figuring out what’s next.
Why This Site Exists
Most career advice online is written for 25-year-olds building a first career, or for executives managing a team. Very little of it speaks to the specific realities of changing direction in midlife: an unexplained gap on a resume, the fear of starting over, the practical question of whether a certification is actually worth the time and money, or the quiet worry that it might be “too late.”
Reinvent at 40 is built around one idea: it isn’t too late, but doing it well takes a realistic plan, not generic encouragement. Every guide on this site aims to answer the question a reader actually has — not the version of that question a 25-year-old would ask.
Who’s Behind the Content
Reinvent at 40 is founded and edited by Mialy. She is not a certified career coach, recruiter, or financial advisor: her work is research and writing. She draws on public labor data, official certification and program pages, salary surveys, and first-hand accounts from women who have changed careers, and turns them into plain-English guides. Read more on Mialy’s author page, and see how articles are sourced, reviewed, and corrected in our Editorial Policy.

A Note on What This Site Is Not
Reinvent at 40 provides general information and is not a substitute for personalized career coaching, financial planning, legal advice, or mental health support. Where a topic touches on your specific financial or emotional situation, we’ll point you toward a qualified professional rather than offer one-size-fits-all advice.
