Reinvent at 40

Editorial Policy

Reinvent at 40 publishes practical guides for women in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s who are changing careers, returning to work, or figuring out what comes next. This page explains how that content is researched, written, reviewed, and kept up to date.

Who Writes the Content

The site is edited by Mialy, its founder (more about the project on our About page). Mialy is not a certified career coach, recruiter, financial advisor, or lawyer. Her role is to research, synthesize, and explain publicly available information in plain English, so readers can make their own informed decisions.

How We Research

We favor primary and authoritative sources wherever possible, including:

  • Government data, such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook and wage data
  • Official pages of certification bodies, schools, and training programs (for requirements, costs, and timelines)
  • Published salary surveys, recruiter and employer surveys, and reputable research reports
  • Firsthand accounts shared publicly by people who have made similar career moves

Figures such as salaries, tuition, and program lengths change over time. We link to or name our sources so you can check the latest numbers yourself before making a decision.

Use of AI Tools

We use AI-assisted tools to help with research, outlining, and drafting. Each article is produced under written editorial guidelines: claims are tied to named sources, figures come from official or published data, and anything that cannot be traced to a source is left out. Published articles are reviewed on an ongoing basis and corrected or updated when needed. We do not publish invented testimonials, fake credentials, or made-up statistics.

Not Professional Advice

Our content is general and educational. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical, or individualized career advice. For decisions involving contracts, retirement accounts, benefits, taxes, or health, please consult a qualified professional.

Independence, Advertising, and Affiliate Links

Reinvent at 40 is supported by advertising and may earn commissions through some affiliate links. Advertisers and partners have no say in what we cover or what we recommend, and no one can pay to be included in or excluded from an article. When a page contains affiliate links, we disclose it. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising and cookies.

Updates and Corrections

We review articles periodically and update them when data, programs, or job-market conditions change. If you spot an error or outdated information, please email contact@reinventat40.com or use our Contact page. We correct factual errors promptly.
